Works in August and September
During August and September the library will be undergoing significant repairs to some of its windows. Scaffolding will envelop the library frontage, some windows will be boarded up while being repaired, and books will be covered in plastic to protect them as stonework is repaired. There is likely also to be heat, dust and noise. While we will do our best to provide a pleasant environment for those using us in August and September, we cannot promise no disruption. If you use the library during these months, please be aware of the works taking place. To avoid the potential disruption, please borrow books before 3rd August for use away from the library.

Library and Archives
As a member of the Somerville community, you have access to your college library 24 hours a day 7 days a week for most weeks of the year. On these pages you will find guidance on using the library in person, using online resources at a distance and using other libraries in Oxford. If you do not find on these pages the information you need, simply ask us, either in person at the library enquiry desk or via email (library@some.ox.ac.uk). We are here to help you find the most relevant information in the most efficient way.
If you are not a Somervillian, then you are welcome to make an appointment to visit our library and archives, where we have material you cannot consult elsewhere in the university. Visit our Contact Us page to find out when we are available to receive visitors.
